What’s going on?
The old forum was kind of a piece of junk, and we wanted to transition to using modern forum software without forcing everyone to reset their passwords. Because a new system for registration was in the works as well, it seemed like a good idea at the time that the new registration system would take over the job of managing accounts.
I (Koinu) grossly underestimated the amount of work this would require. I also overestimated how much spare time I would have to work on it.
Where are things now?
The sign-in and account management functionality that will let us launch the new forum is very close to completion. The new forum will likely go live within the coming week.
After that, the functionality for processing registrations (and payments) is comparably very straightforward and will take only a matter of days to finish.

Planning and preparation for Campfire Tails 2015 has been proceeding independently of this debacle. We’ve got a lot of awesome things in the works, and are aiming to make this our best year yet!
