Campfire Tails Privacy Policy

Any information you provide to us may be retained indefinitely and used for internal purposes by Campfire Tails. We will never sell your personal information to any third party, but some information may be published or disclosed as outlined in this policy.

We will comply with all lawful orders requiring us to release information to law enforcement and/or other government agencies of relevant jurisdiction. We also reserve the to right to voluntarily release any information we have in the event of exceptional or emergency circumstances where we have a good faith belief that releasing your information is in your individual best interest.

We consider aggregated information and statistics that cannot be associated with individuals to no longer be private information, and we reserve the right to publish and/or share this information.

Access Logs and Cookies

We log the information your browser sends us as you access our website and applications, such as your IP address and user agent.

Our registration system and forum use cookies to enable sessions and to track your use of them.

Your Account

Except as outlined in this policy, we do not share the information you provide when creating an account in the registration system with any third parties.

Creating an account in our registration system also creates an account on our forum.

The forum account includes a profile that is publicly visible, thus your username is public information and may be be indexed by search engines and/or archived, even if you never use the forum.

We strongly recommend that you use an alias or pseudonym as your username, instead of your legal name.

A hashed version of your email address is sent to Gravatar. If you have a Gravatar set up, it will be displayed as the avatar of your forum account unless you upload a different one.

Posting on the Forum

Everything you post on the forum is public and may be indexed by search engines and/or archived.

When you make a post or send a message on the forum, we may send your username, email, IP address, and the contents of the post or message to Akismet for the purpose of detecting and blocking spam.

There is no guarantee of privacy concerning the “Private Message” functionality of the forum.

Attending Campfire Tails

The personal information you provide when registering to attend Campfire Tails is kept private and is not shared with any third parties except as outlined in this policy.

The information you provide to PayPal when paying for your registration is governed by the PayPal Privacy Policy. We retain all information that PayPal provides us about the transaction.

In some circumstances we may implicitly or explicitly confirm whether you are a registered attendee or not, but this will generally be on the basis of a name you have chosen to be identified as in your involvement with Campfire Tails, such as your username or the “Furry Name” you chose to have printed on your badge.

In dealings with law enforcement, emergency responders, your emergency contact, insurance providers, or our payment processor (PayPal), we will refer to you by your legal name. We will otherwise make all reasonable efforts to avoid sharing or referring to you by your legal name (including confirming or denying involvement with Campfire Tails) unless we have a good faith belief that your legal name is what you have chosen to be identified as in your involvement with Campfire Tails.

Medical Information

The medical information you provide during check-in is not kept after the event. We allow only staff responsible for your safety to view this information, but will share it with other responders in the event of an emergency.

Additionally, any food allergy information you provide may be shared with the kitchen staff.
